Victoria and Jacob Remix Competition

Our ex-students, Victoria and Jacob are celebrating the release of their next single ‘With No Certainty’ and to this effect they are running a remix competition. They have asked me to pass on the link to see if any of our present students would be interesting in competing. They are making all the tracks available to you at their website.
Vicky and Jacob have been working hard at promoting their music, performing everywhere and I think it is paying off, as they are getting noticed and have been on BBC radio as well as gotten some great reviews in the music press. Follow the link below to learn more about the competition and their work:

Thought I’d share this great track from Vicky and Jake, a few remixes of it have been done by other producers, I think they’re all brilliant ! Vicky and Jake have been constantly gigging since they left uni and I know it’s going to pay off, big time !!

With No Certainty (Dogtanion Darkfuzz mix) by Victoria & Jacob
and… listen !
you could listen to a piece by Mulhy here: http://open.spotify.com/track/11cbqImYt9Kv5N8I6ztM0K
while you are at it, check the’Solar Life Raft’ album on spotify which has several artists on it, including Venezuelan artist Cardopusher who I am glad to see on this compilation. His name is a creole parody on square pusher !
the piece shield dub contains what is essentioally a remix of Hildegard Westerkamp by Matt Shadetek. Anyway, nice electronica stuff ranging from crackly electronica to spacey dub.

All the best,

Laptop music theory stuff

Hi guys,
I added some more to this document. I explained how you can change scales, this will allow you to get your music to travel through some exotic harmonies and even to choose them randomly, also I give you an alternative to \tempo called \stretch wthat will only affect the Pdef which you are using as opp to everything !! (which is what happens when you use \tempo) finally I show you how to transpose and explain the stutter pattern, Pstutter…
it is all…
HERE !
enjoy, see you next week !

Twitter made SuperCollider CD
for a while SuperCollider users were tweeting 140 characters of code which when run in SC would produce a piece. The results are astounding. Bear in mind that all tracks were done like this… just 140 characters to generate each piece ! stream or download from HERE.
Attention Laptop Musicianship Students
I still need a few blog website addressess from you guys, come on, don’t leave it any later !
best,
Julio
