A.R.U. book, call for submissions
An opportunity for my students ( if you have been in one of my lectures, then that means you !!)
got this today from Beth Jones:
Do you want an opportunity to see your work published and
your name in print?
Do you want to be involved in shaping a new publishing project for the
Anglia Ruskin University?
We are Publishing MA students and, working alongside the Cultures of Digital
Economy (CoDE) Research Institute, we are publishing a unique book for publication in May 2010.
The collection will be an anthology of poems, creative writing, critical and
professional essays, commentaries, photographs, illustrations, audio-visual pieces and other art work all centred around a topic inspired by the university itself.
We are asking a selection of individuals and groups to make submissions for
consideration for inclusion in this project. Even if you think your contribution is too small to be considered, send it anyway! It is often the small touches that add to the rich and diverse feel of an anthology.
The deadline is tight and the challenge is huge, but we are sure you can do it and really want you to be part of this local and innovative project.
All contributors included in the anthology will receive an individual copy (printed or electronic) and an invitation to the book launch. Anyone not selected for inclusion will receive a personal response explaining why.
The brief and deadline are below, but if you have any questions, please contact us. We would be happy to provide further information an encouragement! Lastly, if you know of anyone else who may be interested in submitting something, please forward these details on to them, or provide us with their contact details.
We look forward to receiving your submissions.
Deadline:
Monday 15th February 2010
Email submissions (maximum 1000 words or equivalent) to Beth Jones at
elizabeth.jones4@student.anglia.ac.uk
Brief:
The digital world – Are we living in a new ‘industrial age’?
We have kept the brief broad in order to inspire maximum creativity but for those who need an inspirational helping hand, here are a few possible ideas to get you going…
Do you have an audio or visual rather than written interpretation of the brief title?
If indeed there is a new ‘digital’ or ‘industrial’ age, what implications does this have for the music industry?
Do you have predictions for the future of a digital world?
Is there still a place for creativity in a music world led by industry giants?
What is your ‘digital’ world’?
How can music bring people from circumstances and cultural backgrounds together?
If you would prefer to create a sound file, video, animation or presentation instead of a written/illustrated piece, we can include it in the e-book.
