Acousmatic Music Lesson 4: Choosing your materials
It’s all about composition: putting things together !
In this podcast we look at some compositional approaches for choosing your material. We examine some examples from the repertoire and we walk through some practical applications illustrated on an audio sequencer (logicPro). At some point I claim that Williams Mix by Cage would be very different according to who realises the piece and I attribute it to the score not being precise. I didn’t intend to say that, it is a mistake. The realisations would be very different because of the chance operations involved. The score is actually very, very precise !!
